My Story

Greetings, I am Angela Dancy a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Houston, Tx.,  where I am a native.  I graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor Degree in Communication and Psychology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.  Additionally, I obtained a Master of Education degree in Counseling & Development from Lamar University.  

 

As a dedicated and professional mental health counselor, I prioritize objectivity, rationality, and an open-minded approach to support your personal growth. My personalized therapy style is designed to help clients leverage their strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve emotional resilience. I provide a safe, supportive environment where you feel genuinely heard, valued, and understood for your unique qualities. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is central to effective counseling, enabling us to explore your experiences and foster meaningful change. I have extensive experience helping individuals, groups, families, and couples in navigating challenges related to anxiety, trauma, depression, family dynamics, life transitions, self-worth, interpersonal conflicts, relationship issues, grief, and more. Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I work collaboratively with clients to identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors that may be hindering their personal growth.

 

By enhancing the client's awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and actions, they acquire valuable tools and strategies to effectively manage their emotional responses and behaviors. This process ultimately enhances the quality of their relationships with significant individuals in their lives.
